Week 27 - Data analysis and potential impact of the findings

  • Week 27 - Data analysis and potential impact of the findings
  • To what extent does the collected data answer the research question?
  • I am interested to see whether blended learning tasks have more benefit to my students and their learning in numeracy.
  • How well does the data collection method proposed in the plan help you to collect the data?
I will be using google forms as a means to collect data. This allows for the data to be analysed and viewed via graphs. I will need to look closely during the collection of my qualitative data (observations within the classroom setting) to see which group of students (those who were given the flipped tasks and those not given any flipped learning) were more engaged in their learning during the specified period of time.
  • How might the outcome impact on your communities?
  • How will the outcome of the inquiry contribute to the topic area you are investigating?
  • How will the outcome of the inquiry impact on the perception of members of your community about that topic area?
  • How will the outcome of the inquiry impact on your practice (or community of practice)?

  • What are the possible benefits (and disadvantages of the project)?

  • How might the outcome impact on your communities?
  • Hopefully, sharing my findings create mind shift within staff so that they feel more encouraged to begin using blended learning within their own classrooms. Thereafter, I am hoping that parents also become aware of the benefits of blended learning and become more a part of their child's learning journey.
  • How will the outcome of the inquiry contribute to the topic area you are investigating?
  • I am hoping that this will make me a lot more comfortable about teaching in ways other the traditional teaching methods. I hope more than anything else that I will be in a much better "place" when it comes to teaching the various strategies in numeracy.
  • How will the outcome of the inquiry impact on the perception of members of your community about that topic area?
  • From my students point of view, I hope that they will enjoy learning through blended learning methods and realise that there is more to the traditional methods of teaching. From my fellow colleagues point of view,  I hope that they will now be brave enough to venture into using strategies offered by the blended learning model in the teaching of numeracy.
  • How will the outcome of the inquiry impact on your practice (or community of practice)?
The 21st century approach including more use of the digital technologies as an alternate  to traditional methods of teaching and learning will create opportunities for our students to achieve higher outcomes whilst achieving personal success by having an idea beforehand as to what the next lesson will be about, rather than being faced with "new" strategies and tasks. I am hoping that this teacher inquiry plan would allow for this to happen and work towards more focus on digital technologies being part of our students' learning in the future.

What I would hope to get out of my inquiry (Potential impact of findings)
